The flooring must be visually inviting, hardwearing, and practical across both front-of-house and amenity zones.

The brief

Hull Flooring was engaged to deliver full subfloor preparation and the installation of multiple floor finishes at The Entertainer’s new Cambridge location. The project covered 410sqm across retail and staff amenity areas, with works scheduled during standard daytime hours.

Following early conversations with the client, it became clear that additional subfloor prep would be needed before the main fit-out began — creating an opportunity to proactively plan ahead.

Making it work

Rather than waiting for issues to arise during the fit-out, Hull Flooring surveyed the site in advance, identified the extra preparation required, and completed the works early - ahead of other trades arriving. This forward planning ensured full site access remained unrestricted for everyone, eliminating the risk of delays later in the programme.

We applied Arditex NA smoothing compound, followed by Amtico Spacia LVT in the retail zones and Polyflex Plus with Polysafe vinyl sheet in the amenity areas. All works were completed cleanly, safely, and within the agreed timeframe.

The result

By addressing subfloor needs upfront and working collaboratively with the wider project team, Hull Flooring helped pave the way for a smooth and efficient store fit-out. The final handover met The Entertainer’s high standards — with a bright, durable floor that supports the space and the brand experience.
