A flagship fit-out designed for life outdoors - durable, adaptable flooring for a new generation of retail.

Why this space matters

Go Outdoors is more than a retailer - it’s a destination for adventure-seekers, families, and seasoned explorers. The Derby store was chosen as a flagship location to trial a fresh approach to store design, including flooring. With large volumes of foot traffic, frequent merchandising changes, and even dog-friendly access, the flooring had to be as tough and versatile as the customers it supports.

The brief

Hull Flooring was engaged to support the delivery of a complete new flooring scheme for Go Outdoors’ flagship Derby store. The brief: prepare the existing sub-floor and install 4,000m² of durable, easy-maintenance vinyl flooring - designed to handle everything from muddy boots to changing displays, without sacrificing style or brand experience.

The installation included:

• 3,000m² of Moduleo 55 Mountain Oak LVT on the ground floor

• 1,000m² of IVC Concept 70 Galibier heterogeneous vinyl on the mezzanine level

Making it work

The Hull Flooring team worked closely with Go Outdoors and flooring supplier IVC Commercial to ensure the right materials were selected for both performance and aesthetics. The oak-effect LVT brought warmth and visual continuity to the large open-plan layout, while the smart concrete-look vinyl upstairs added a clean, contemporary feel to staff and service zones.

Our install team managed the sequencing, material handling, and finishing across a vast 4,000m² — that’s roughly the same as half a football pitch — every metre installed with precision, care, and consistency across both retail and mezzanine levels.

The result

The Derby store has become a blueprint for Go Outdoors’ new flooring standard — combining durability, design, and practicality. Thanks to Hull Flooring’s expert delivery, the new surfaces are ready for anything: dogs, displays, downpours, and more. And just as importantly, they support the seamless shopping experience that keeps customers coming back.
