HULL FLOORING SHORTLISTED FOR CFJ AWARDS 2026: Not one but two projects for very different spaces

This year Hull Flooring have been selected as a finalist in this year's Contract Flooring Journal Awards for not just one but two very different projects: the CBeebies Hotel at Alton Towers and Winifred Holtby & Tweendykes School in Hull.

The first is the CBeebies Hotel at Alton Towers, shortlisted in the Flooring in Hotels category. This project consisted of 734 sqm of printed sheet flooring across reception, restaurant and entertainment areas. The brief was straightforward on the surface but the reality was much more complex: a fixed shutdown window, 1,200 guests arriving opening weekend, and a reverse print product where one installation mistake would compromise the whole project.

The second project up for an award was submitted by our supply chain partner, Altro who submitted the Winifred Holtby & Tweendykes School project for the Flooring in Education category. A dual-campus education setting where we're delivering 3,000 sqm of flooring in phases across school holidays. The challenge here is different as it was about supporting student learning, safety and comfort while making sure the work happens invisibly, so kids never see the disruption.

What we're thrilled about is that the Winifred Holtby project was entered by one of our biggest supply partners who recognised the quality of the work enough to put it forward, that says something.

Both projects are the work we focus on most not the flashy stuff, but the kind that requires real planning, real care, and people who show up and deliver.
